HAPPY REPUBLIC DAY

A day on which we salute the flag, sing the national anthem, distribute sweets paying a tribute to the leaders who brought us an independent India, a nation where we have freedom to dream, freedom to achieve, freedom to serve and freedom to live a life. A day to rethink of what is done and what is to be done to the country, what is patriotism and what is the so called 'right attitude'. Are all these words, sentences, feelings meant for just a couple of national days?? Isn't a man who doesn't salute the tricolor flag today an Indian??!! Let me think...

Everyday we spend with our routine with an admixture of studies, observations, realizations and not to forget, gossip. Life becomes monotonous stuffed more with worthless things. Here we stand today saluting the national flag, recollecting our responsibility. An opportunity to restructure our ways, set the things in the right path, cherish the past achievements, aspire for better tomorrow and conspire against the darker side of our lives. No one knows what is tomorrow, nevertheless everyone looks forward for a brighter future. A few hours of sleep is not worth to miss this opportunity on an auspicious day to let in some inspiration, motivation and an urge to do something not that this is the only day for it.
Then why today?? - A national day celebrated all over the nation irrespective of state, religion ,caste and gender as a token of gratitude for the past sacrifices of the leaders and visionaries- those who considered their struggle and pain worth an independent India heading to the heaven of peace, love, integrity and development. A day to reward the contemporary visionaries, artists, leaders and a bunch of talented successful people in the nation. A day to see through the past, present and future progress of the nation.
As it happens, all this stuff seems to be a well prepared speech to deliver in a public assembly for the sake of it. It may be like- 'Watch a good movie, get inspired ,realize things sitting in your comfortable cushion in the theater and then come outside into the light to get on with your routine. Listen to a moving lecture, stretch your veins, shed some tears and carry on with your chaos. Notice a poor child, feel for him, donate a rupee and then walk away in your way.' This is the way things are in the interconnected web of an independent society.
As we know this leads us nowhere. All we need is an interdependent society with compassionate, responsible and responsive citizens. Let us shed away the indifferent attitude, nonchalant talks and complacent nature. Let go astray the pessimistic ideas from our comprehensive minds. Let our consecrated hearts sing the National Anthem for the days to come to witness a developed India with world class citizens yet tolerant enough to say VR1.
