 Ain't we like the cuckoo

that has lost its view,

as it yearns for the drops of dew

in the dark spell, the shadow of the clouds drew

for we stand amidst a maze

and endeavor to fixate our gaze

on those moments that sprinkle joyous sprays

while our attachments and aversions cast a haze...

Can we ever break out from this wheel of time, eternal?

Do we get to see through the illusory visual?

Damn! Haven't we mistaken joy as the beauty in a flower so ephemeral?

Oh! Ain't the fragrance of the almighty's charm , a bliss, internal!

Never too late...

Its never too late
to rewrite your fate
to become someone great
and that be you my mate!!

But don't you wait
for an exogenous trait
to change your plight
or bring out your might

Every second coming through would be bright
All evils departed in the bygone night
and none could set it all straight
if not the one in your self portrait

Let not the praise of illustriousness
become the soul aspiration of your industriousness
for its only as a spin off from righteousness
does come what people call that as greatness

You do have the right question
and more importantly the path for solution
All it takes is vigour and action
to launch you at your destination..

Its never too late
to rewrite your fate
and what you ever did estimate
that be you my mate !!!

To start anew...

On the eve of the 67th independence day of our India, I was occupied with a sense of low morale contemplating the unpleasant scenario in the entire country,  be it in our polity, our economy or civil society for that matter. Everyday newspapers greet us with a plethora of obnoxious facts and mishaps, the outright apathy of our demagogues towards their duty, the growing delinquency in civil society and what not. To be a bit dramatic, at times I wondered if there is a hope for our nation to sustain owing to the degradation of ethical integrity in all spheres. The Prime minister's address from Red fort reflects nothing but a mere paperwork of his government's initiatives and condolences for the irreparable damages done. On the other hand the so called projected Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi did no more than mere criticism of every single line of the former's speech. Then I have gone through the speech of honourable President of India. It was indeed a good one highlighting the evils which are drawing us away from development. He quotes the ideas of Mahatma Gandhi which I would like to mention here - We have to avoid "politics without principles, wealth without work, pleasure without conscience, knowledge without character, commerce without morality, science without humanity and worship without sacrifice."  This is what is exactly happening in our society right now.

When I say society I am in no way apart from it nor those who are closely related to me. After some introspection , it dawned upon me that criticism of undesirable events , persons or our most favourite blame game will take us no where. In fact, it obscures the vision of our personal demerits and duties.Complacence has become an integral part of our lives that we even fail to observe that we are being complacent. Everyone of us wants a clean (garbage free) India  like in foreign countries. But, I myself when throwing something on the road don't regret the action and indeed come up with an explanation that a bit of waste added to the existing one does not make a difference. Unfortunately, I am not the only person thinking in these lines to add up to the pile of waste. This is happening in all spheres of our lives while my example is a petty one to start with. We may think that we alone can't make any differences but as Mother Teresa says , "It may be a drop in the ocean yet the ocean will be less because of the missing drop ".

Great people are not only born but can be made. I believe this is possible only by adherence to some good principles throughout our life. We need to do more than mere appreciation of Mahatma Gandhi or Mother Teresa or Swami Vivekananda or any great personality for that matter. A real tribute to them is observing their lives closely and understand the principles that made them what they are. When there is single black spot on a white paper, it is what we tend to observe on the first sight. Similarly, most of us take pleasure in highlighting and propagating the flaws of  revered personalities like Gandhi or Nehru. We fail to realise that they are also normal human beings who are prone to commit mistakes. I happen to encounter many such posts on Facebook all the time.

I am personally fed up of going on and on about politicians being unethical or society being degraded. I realised to concentrate on my inner self first before pointing to someone else. If everyone does their duties without abstaining and stick to the norms and moral values it automatically leads to the greater good of the society. The entire universe works in unison. When we think of a good thought, our mind synchronizes with the thoughts of all such people in the world who do good deeds and the path you take further is good. It is the same in case of evil people who degrade further with their every action. One simple thing we all can do personally is to watch our own actions. It is simple in principle yet difficult in practice but that is the only way out of the deadly mire that pulls us towards peril. It is better to share good thoughts than to share the criticism which leads us no where. So, friends that is what my blog is going to be about from now on....

Well you are most welcome to share your comments on my boring posts. Do share if you like them also :P

JUSTICE MUST REACH THE POOR

Justice in general is the delivery of equal opportunities, rights and dignity to all the people. As far as the reach of justice is concerned, the poor may not explicitly mean people who are stricken with poverty or economically backward. Our society is stratified into different classes of people, essentially the upper class, the middle class and the lower class of which the former one is dominant and has more power compared to the other two. A common man in a country like India falls in either middle class or the lower class in general. Keeping aside his economic viability in the society, he may or may not be in a position to assert his choices and opportunities which he deserves morally and legally. The point to be driven home here is people who are non-dominant or weak in social, political or for that matter economic aspects can be considered poor in regard to justice.

The preamble of the Indian constitution assures Justice- social, economical and political to all the citizens of India. The democratic form of governance avowed by the constitution also has the principle of socialism embedded in it. The fundamental rights guaranteed by the constitution are to be enjoyed equally by all the people and the rule of law provides equal opportunities to everyone. There is also a constitutional enforcement of these rights via the “Right to Constitutional Remedies” which empowers the citizens to approach the Supreme Court, the highest form of judiciary, in the event of their violation. The marginalised classes are given protection by repealing the evils of Untouchability, trafficking, bonded labour, child labour etc.

In spite of all the rights and protective laws conferred by the State on the people, one has to be an position to avail all these opportunities. This is especially true in case of poor people for they lack awareness and literacy in many cases. When the poor are denied what they rightfully deserve, firstly they should understand what they are deprived of and secondly they should be ready to approach for justice without the fear of denial by the undue power of the victimising party. They should also be able to meet the cost and time of availing justice by means of reaching for the courts or tribunals.

There are several police stations, tribunals and courts established by the state all over the country to look after the law and order problem and delivery of justice to the people. Further, the directive principles of state policy emphasise that the government should strive to bridge the gap between the haves and have nots and promote inclusive growth. The Legal Services Authorities Act of, 1987 is a move to provide free legal aid to the poor and needy to make the justice reach them. The phenomenal outcome of the judicial activism in the country is the Public Interest Litigation which enables any concerned citizen to litigate in public interest. This is one of the ways in which the marginalised people can benefit from the initiative of vigilant citizens.

However, having a glance at the existing judicial machinery, one cannot be elated with the present justice delivery system. The enormous burden on the judiciary with millions of cases piling up every day is leading to unreasonable delay in the delivery of justice. In such cases people may prefer to refrain from approaching the courts as justice delayed is justice denied indeed. A more co-operative environment in the police stations is required to encourage the poor to file a case. In case the poor are the accused, it takes them a great deal to prove their innocence due to political and economic vulnerability. Establishment of Lok Adalats and Fast track courts, reduction in the court fee,
providing legal aid to the defendants, making the criminal procedure stringent are some of the initiatives taken to improve the quality of justice delivery.

Eventually, it is the proactive behaviour of the citizens which upholds the justice. A vigilant and considerate society is needed to make the justice reach the poor. Implementation of the available laws and statutes at the grass root levels is the key factor to be noted. Awareness should be spread among everyone to affirm a dignified life legally irrespective of their economic and political status in the society. Political backing of criminals is to be curbed by strict implementation of the rule of law. Special committees and organisations can be set up to cater to the needs of the poor. “Truth alone triumphs” when people choose to let the truth expose herself.

Sporadic writer

I started writing on this blog a year and half back on jan 26 2011 i.e our 62nd republic day. I did so for I was overwhelmed with some kind of emotions that day which I felt like sharing with people. I always had such strong feelings or for that matter opinions in many aspects, though not of varied genres during my schooling and I used to express myself through some essays or little poems or something like that. I always made a point to write a journal everyday ( though skipped sometimes) back then. When I go through my old diary or old articles written by me, sometimes I kinda get this uncanny feeling that Oh! Have I thought like that or was I so full of positivity? May be this happens to many but I can't help wondering about how people transform with the passage of time. The less immature I was, the more positivity and aspirations I was preoccupied with, always dreaming to be Someone in future.I regret to realise that I hardly write any poems or articles these days. This fact raises a silly doubt in my mind. Have I stopped feeling for things and reacting to the situations? Funny! but how can that be? No one stops feeling ever. In fact, the more we face in life, the more we feel about different things, lots of prejudices, lots of opinions and lots of thoughts see their way through our heads. Why then did I stop expressing my views in written form? With some speculation and deliberation I found out some possible reasons. May be I am getting carried away by the daily chores and chaos that I just don't linger to give a thought to what I feel about specific things and make sure to emphasize them.May be, my mind is cluttered with a lot of unnecessary stuff that obscures my instincts of motivation and inspiration in life.May be I have grown up to realise that too much of optimism doesn't make much sense, for the world is the way it is. No matter whatever the reason is I loved the way I was earlier for I feel that the distinct thoughts and principles of mine define what I am. I need to make sure of the way I feel about things and bring out the motivation in me not only to let others know me but to reassure myself about the path I choose and the thoughts I frame which of course guide my actions. My introspection substantiates that it is we who could direct the way we live and everywhere we have a choice to make our life either passive or ebullient. Its lies within us, the will to let go astray all the passivity that impedes us to be dynamic. Hence, folks I choose to start afresh and do what I love to do and be what I want to be and leave the regrets of not having done what I wish to or long to do. I may sound boring all through yet I intend to get rid of my boredom through this post. Thank you guys if you were able to put up with me till the end of this post. Here, I couldn't stop mentioning one line which have read in a blog "Be the purple cow" WHY BE GOOD WHEN YOU CAN BE AWESOME." This somehow motivated me to stimulate my attitude.

COMMUNICATION GAP

COMMUNICATION GAP

Communication gap ,the thing which makes a lot of difference in every interaction  we are involved in. This gap  if not bridged soon leads  to undesired consequences in a person's life ,indeed it may affect more than one person. When does this arise? Why does this arise? These queries will be clarified if we give a slight thought to it. As this is more or less related and infers to relationships people involve in, a parent and child kinship seems a good instance to be started with.

In the present scenario where there is a vigorous competition in the market for educational and job opportunities it is quite common that children spend most of their educational years at a place away from their homes. Naturally ,most of the parents have some apprehensions about their kids' life over there. They are haunted with a feeling of insecurity that their son or daughter may fall into wrong tracks and  deceive them. Especially in the case of girls from orthodox kind of  families parents do worry a little more for they think that girls are vulnerable to many adverse situations in this vicious society. Their apprehensions may be partially true but eventually some of the parents take fault decisions. They impose restrictions on them instead of letting them know their real intentions. This in fact reduces the emotional closeness and intimacy of the children with their parents that hinders them from sharing some of their  ideas, experiences and doubts. The painful feeling that their parents don't trust them truly hurts their tender hearts. Slowly, the so called communication gap comes into picture. Ultimately, they fail to share the most important aspects of their life may it be their love, or their worries with their class mates or their academic issues.  Both of them are bound to repent for it because of the abdicable followings. To avoid all such mishaps there should be a healthy interaction between the parents and children. Parents should instead assure their children that they are by their side come what may. They should provide a friendly atmosphere for them to present their inner thoughts. This actually makes them more comfortable and will not let any idea of betraying their parents to creep in their minds. Moreover, parents should come out of the conservative   webs that they have built around them and look into the cosmopolitan world with a comprehensive vision for the betterment of their children.

Moving on to a wife and husband relationship , it is the most sensitive of all ,  in either of the cases of love marriage or arranged marriage. Although there  is enough love between two people it may not assure a dispute free life. They may be able to make their life comfortable with all materialistic luxuries but sometimes they fail to notice and offer the expected concern to their mates. Ego, jealousy and likewise things may peep through their lives. Many things remain unsaid between the two people and pile up as the junk in a store room. By the time it is realized that it actually needs some cleaning the labour is too much I.e;they are separated to a quite greater distances in the long run the very root cause being the communication gap. To err is human and to rectify the error is humanity. A small note of apology,in other words a five letter sorry will keep up a relation at its good while ego destroys everything. This is  applicable between friends as well.

On a concluding note, it is evident that any unsolved and unsaid issues between people damage the sensitive bonds between them and invite uncalled problems to the picture. So, never make your life and others' life too to be messed up with problems on account of a negligence in clearing up petty yet bothering things. Expressing things casts away the load of emotional torture and keeps retains your loved ones always lovable.
